All of my plans for 2023

I agree with this sentiment and in my case, I’d have to say Always have a few plans”.

As an artist and creative, I’m constantly thinking about new ideas and plans from paintings and design projects to courses and initiatives to promote creativity.

Dreaming big is what I do, but sometimes I have to sit back, take a deep breath and take stock of what these plans entail.

Having done that, I'd love to share my plans for 2023 with you.

Imaginarium

Imaginarium is a very popular three week long course I created two years ago and it's being offered just once more as a 'live' course.

I've moved all three modules (eighteen projects + bonus) across to my new learning platform to make access simpler.

There's a new bonus project added, videos have been re-edited and each one has closed captions.

Imaginarium runs from 9-29 January and you can get all the information you need here.

Mini-course Bundles

I've just released three bundles of my mini courses as a New Year's Special. Get two for the price of one and, for a limited periond, I'm throwing in Creative Circles FREE.

Coloricombo 2023

This weekly colour prompt has been incredibly popular and I have enjoyed researching art and design ranging from obscure Soviet-era matchboxes to overlooked female designers, or finding out interesting works by masters we know well.

I’m committing to do #coloricombo for another year, bringing a weekly dose of colours to your inbox every Monday for FREE.

Register here if you haven't already.

All of Coloricombo's 2022 colour prompts can be purchased for a token amount of £15 rather than the listed £45 during January and £1.50 of each sale will go to Starfish Greathearts, a charity I support.

Top Drawer, London Olympia

As well as being an artist I am also a surface pattern designer. with work licensed for fabric, wallpaper and homeware amongst others.

I also have my own collection of prints available and will launching cushions, textiles and decorative wall-based products during Top Drawer, to be held at London Olympia from 15-17 January.

Bali Art Retreat

I loved escaping to the tropics last September and teaching on two art and yoga retreats. In Summer 2023 I will be teaching there once again.

The first retreat is sold out, a second retreat has been added and there are only four places left at the time of writing this.

We’ll be based at Villa Nilaya, the home of our experienced host, Anna Kwiecinska who is a fellow free spirit and an intrepid traveller. Places are filling up fast.

Live Workshops

For the last few years I have been doing short live demos on Instagram on Monday afternoons. During 2022 I linked these up with the #coloricombo weekly colour prompts and I really enjoy doing these impromptu sessions.

However, Instagram has become more fickle and I am working on some ideas to offer these sessions in a more thought out, planned way as short masterclasses on the teaching platform I use for my regular courses.

With this in mind I am planning to offer live weekend art sessions: real time, slower-paced demonstrations linked to colours, flowers and paint techniques.

Lookout for more information soon.

Arboretum

Arboretum is a three week long course based on tree forms. It covers drawing and painting techniques and explores possibilities in watercolour and ink.

Arboretum will be offered ‘live’ for the final time in the middle of 2023. Dates to be announced in February

Explore Abstracts

Some of my courses take ages to develop, with some only coming to fruition after years of planning and experimenting.

I have been working on an abstract course since 2020 and the resulting course, Explore Abstracts I will be my only newly launched course in 2023. This is where will be investing my energy and focus, pulling everything together as a six week long course.

Explore Abstracts I is a (big and powerful) and will be offered in the second half of 2023 with a full year’s access afterwards.

If you would like to indulge yourself and dive a bit deeper into abstract creative possibilities add your name to the priority list here.

Self-Paced Courses

Some courses work well when released as self-paced and Colour Collage I is one of them.

I love using collage in art. It’s the best way to get to grips with colour, paint techniques and composition using translucent acrylic layering on deli paper sheets.

This course is suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike, a game changing course.

See all info here.

'Me' Time and Collaborations

Creative recharge! Finally, I will also be prioritising time to create more of my own art.

Yes, blocking out time for making art and creative play is vital to my wellbeing and equilibrium. When looking back on last year I realise again how important this is and that it should never be neglected. Creating art and making time for playing and exploring new ideas replenishes my own creative well, and this is important in order to share with others.

I have loved the different art collaborations I have been involved in this year, and am currently putting together my second quilt fabric collection with Freespirit Fabric and expanding my wallpaper range with Robin Sprong.
